Is crude oil a renewable energy resource?

Question: Is crude oil a renewable energy resource?

Answer: Crude oil is not considered a renewable energy resource because the oil reserves we have found are all discrete in size, meaning they do dry up when you remove the oil from them. While there may or may not be geological processes underway that will produce more oil in the future, we have no way of controlling these processes and so we don’t have any way to ensure that the crude oil supply is naturally replenished by the earth.
